What I’m working on
I took time this weekend to reflect a little bit on my different projects and goals, tidy up my Burner List (mentioned in Pilcrow #9) and optimize my personal space on Notion.
I try to do this every 3 to 4 weeks, it helps me stay focused and make sure my projects are aligned with each of my goals. The process is still a lit bit messy as I’m going through my tasks in Notion, my goals page, my Burner List, and sometimes creating a new Figjam file to let my brain do its thing.
Thoughts on being focused on goals
Quite an easy transition to make! While my Notion may appear to be orderly, the reality inside my brain is a little more messy.
Having goals, projects, and a burner list can help you stay focused, at least in my experience. That said, it won't stop you from having new ideas, wanting to start a new project, or taking a break — all of which are fine. I believe that consistency and discipline will lead to greater success than constantly switching from one idea to another, but we mustn't forget that our brains love new things.
I think it's ok to have a way to take a break from your main project with a smaller one—just for you. That's how I use my Burner List: 70% of my time goes to my main project, 25% to a smaller one, and the remaining 5% to maintaining existing projects: updating dependencies, implementing the new Framer features, fixing some stuff. This way, I can dedicate most of my time to my main project, while also having the time and space to create something new and make quick updates on existing projects.
For example, I try to spend ~70% of my time on moodboards.gallery, ~25% on new pages for my personal website (more about it here and here), and then update my previous projects with the remaining 5%.
Tools I’m currently trying
And while we’re here talking about our brain and focus, I’d like to share something I re-start doing recently that fills my brain with new ideas: bookmarking recipes.

Seeing all these colors, materials, and instructions perfectly arranged tend to be another good source of inspiration when it comes to trying different things, new color palettes, or flavors. I’m using the New York Times Cooking app for that and my French and Italian recipe books. Bon appétit!
Interesting works of the week
That’s all, friends — have a great Sunday! 🖤
