Pilcrow #2
Extract your best shot of espresso / infuse your favorite tea, a new edition of Pilcrow just arrived in your inbox!
We recently crossed the number of 100 subscribers, so I wanted to start this edition by saying “Thank you” to everyone, it means a lot 🖤
Today, type lovers will fall in love — at least once. A new font for your side project, maybe? You’ll also find interesting composition ideas and, as always, discover the works of talented designers worldwide. Have a great time!
PS: some words about what I’m working on at the end 👀
Kurppa Hosk Type
Foundries websites tend to be the ones I will spend the most of my time between two projects, as they always try something new regarding layout, playgrounds, font features highlights, etc. — resulting in a great source of inspiration. And this one is no exception. Also, the works gallery is pretty interesting!
The New-York Times Food Festiva
Any foodie out there? I love the “mouthwatering animated system” and how they make it reel with all the signage. Of course, its usage on the web and in printed ads is also pretty interesting, with great food photos, delicious typography, and gorgeous organic red shapes. Yummy!
AUF Studio Branding
The architectural studio is building a solid and recognizable brand with Vignelli-inspired markings, a color palette inspired by wood concert and ground, and a versatile layout system.
Fritsch & The Jims
Let’s explore a music project now with the interesting work of Thomas Sturm. With a combination of Marfield + Helvetica, a monochrome theme, and effects added on type and photos, the resulting graphic identity for the Austrian band caught my attention in just a few seconds.
Spline
And for the latest work curated, let’s dive into the world of furniture and objects: materials and light effects, collages, interesting compositions, and great product photography.
What I’m working on
Gathering works from other designers and writing something about it before sending it to you leads me to some ideas I want to explore in 2023.
The first is a place dedicated to designers' inspiration, where they come from, and how they mix them until they find a direction. I’m working on a new cool (I hope) place on the Internets where you can learn from designers you admire, better understand the creative process and grab some tips.

That’s all, friends! Have a great Sunday! 🖤
