Hey friends,
I hope you had a great and exciting week! Lately, I’ve been thinking about turning some of my thoughts here into essays. I’ll publish a tweet in the coming days to get some insights about what could be the more interesting one as a first try. Keep an eye on Twitter to share your opinion!
Here are today’s topics:

What I’m working on
I found some time to continue my work on my website, this time by doing a self-critique on the layout and content. The idea here was to try to be as honest with myself as possible, remove what doesn’t make sense anymore, what could be improved, and what works well.
To do this review, I captured my pages at full height and put some sticky notes in FigJam to grab my thoughts and ideas quickly. I didn’t include my moodboard or track record pages, although they may need more love, and I already have some ideas to make them more interesting to play with.
Thoughts on working towards your goals
TL;DR
Detractors always emerge when you're making progress towards your goals.
Focus on hard work, surround yourself with the right people, and do your best to be as prepared as possible for opportunities.
Seek honest criticism from individuals you admire, maintain balance, and apply advice while being skeptical when necessary.

Detractors will always show up the moment you’re on the right track and find your cadence to reach your goal. Always. That’s something I still do not understand today. And I think there is no point in trying to understand, to be honest, as it will not elevate you or your peers, nor bring you closer to your goal.
Jealousy, envy, and hypocrisy, all of these negative things will become more and more present with time. It can be seen as something positive, as it may be considered a sign of your success, but I don’t really like this idea. I prefer individuals who perceive the value of hard work, great entourage, and effective preparation for opportunities.
You don’t have to wear blinders, like most things it’s about balance. Keep doing what you do best, according to your values and goals, hang out with your lil crew, and stay open to honest criticism from people you admire and respect.
I tend to think that listening and applying advice are two distinct steps, and being skeptical can be very helpful sometimes (learn more about that in Pilcrow 11 ↗︎). I also like to seek feedback from specific people at different steps of my process. For example, I’ll not ask questions to the same person during my discovery/exploration phase, my first prototypes, and when I’m about to ship my project.
